| - 3.5 star -- it's a little dated for a Hilton. Great location!
This is a nice Hilton property, located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The staff is very nice and efficient and the room is large and the bed is super comfortable. I arrived late (2 a.m.) because my flights were delayed and the night staff was very courteous and checked me right in without any problems and gave me a free room upgrade. I slept like a log on the super comfortable bed.
I know my way around downtown since I've been here before.
I walked to Queen Street for an early lunch -- Indian food, great and cheap. Went back to Queens Street for dinner and had good Korean food (it was inexpensive). I love the vibrancy of Queen Street! There's a store that sells only condoms -- it reminds me of a shop in Amsterdam, except way, way, way tamer in TO. (LOL!) The ladies who work in the shop was a riot! (Canadians certainly have a great sense of humour!)
Great place to walk off my jet lag. So, I walked to "Old Town" via University Avenue -- I always love walking through U of TO. Had a nice massage in Old Town and did some window shopping. I love walking through "Old Town."
I've got to hit one of my favorite places in TO before I leave -- the Art Gallery of Ontario; I love it's wooden, circular staircase -- it's like going up the "Stair Way to Haven"! It's great to just stare at it for a long time -- really inspiring and amazingly beautiful! I hope my favorite Pho restaurant in Chinatown is still open.
On this trip, one of my mission is to find a restaurant that serves moose meat. (Every time I come to Canada, I look for it, ask around for it and people look at me strange. It probably taste like chicken :). I may have to go hunt for my own moose meat and BBQ it in the woods. Ahh, I don't know how to shoot a gun and afraid of the forest. Oh well, I may have to settle for Moosehead Beer yet again :). My quest for moose meat in Canada may end in the same quest for Wiener Schnitzel in Berlin, Germany -- total failure. My buddies had fun with me every time we went to a restaurant and bust out laughing when I asked the puzzled waiter for Wiener Schnitzel. (I'm going to Austrian for this delicacy next time.)
