| - Pretty big buffet for the price, which is much more reasonable than buffets on the Strip. The flavor of the Asian short ribs was amazing, but OMG was the meat chewy !!! If they just cooked it until it fell off the bone, even a cheap cut could melt in your mouth. If I had the recipe for the flavor, I'd duplicate this with a more tender cut of beef (even ground round would be better than the chewy cuts !) I wondered as I swallowed the chewy meat, did I even break it up before it went down or did I just flatten it ? That was the only item I did not finish on my plate. I was careful about taking small portions so I could taste everything without wasting any, but I just could not bear the thought of more heavy duty chewing of tough unchewable meat.
I think we had prime rib (or was it tri-tip ?) it wasn't bad, but not as good as a good NY strip. But maybe I'm biased. We didn't come for the beef, so, overall we were very happy with this buffet. We also came mid-week, the price is better but you don't get crab legs. Since we are not big crab leg fans, we didn't want to pay the higher weekend price. If you are ambivalent about crab legs, week day price is better than weekend. Pay before lunch cut-off time and you can also get the dinner items (which might just be prime rib). I believe everything else (except prime rib) served at dinner is served at lunch too.
The ice cream was yummy. Nice and rich but not over the top. The other desserts were eye candy ! I had chocolate lava cake and a tiramisu shooter as appetizers, made sure I could eat what I really wanted and not wait til the end when I am too stuffed to really enjoy it. Sweet that you can get coffee drinks (cappuccino, lattes) at the dessert counter.
We ate TOO much but definitely enjoyed the experience. Bon appetit !
