Today was my second visit to Greco and this review is based on both visits. Both times I had a regular Gyro and hand-cut fries with lemon and oregano.
First off the gyro is very tasty and filling. Good portion of lamb and the house-made Tzatziki is perfect. No complaints there.
Unfortunately, the hand-cut fries are terrible. The first time I ordered them I thought I just caught them at a bad time. But the second time they tasted exactly the same: like little pieces of soggy, limp cardboard sprinkled with some oregano and a hint of lemon.
Hand-cut fries take commitment and time to prepare. After cutting they need to be soaked for hours otherwise they will be limp and soggy. Then you've got to fry them twice... once after removing from the water and again when they are ordered.
If you're not up to the task to prepare hand-cut fries properly just serve a good quality frozen fry and stick to what you're good at.
