| - Yay I'm a fan. BUT. We have been ordering take-out on a regular basis for years. We enjoy the mu shu, black bean sauce, duck, soups and more. Yesterday, I ordered 2 things from the lunch menu - shrimp and broccoli...and curry tofu. I loved the tofu. Now the shrimp....when I removed the top from the box, I was hit with a whiff of badness - it smelled way too shrimpy. I tried it anyway and it also tasted bad. Looking back, the smell had that ammonia aroma I have noticed before with bad seafood.
I called to share the news, so they would be aware, and hopefully to get credit for our next delivery, but the women on the phone was quite nasty and said I had to bring her the shrimp!! I am not kidding - she said something like, "how would I know you did not eat it all and just want the money?" Hmmmm, why hadn't I thought of this ingenious plan before?
I am particular about my shrimp and think the ones they use at dinner are really good. She said the lunch shrimp are smaller and taste different. Maybe they are those sad peel and eat types that Teeter used to sell frozen 2 for 1 (already peeled, deveined, bad texture and bad taste.)
But I suspect yesterday's were rancid.
And as long as I am here, I sure wish they would use eco-friendly packaging. All that plastic makes me feel dirty. Plus don't you get disturbed by hot soup sitting in a cheap plastic container?
Darn. They really do have good food and the free delivery rocks(of course we tip).
