  • DONUTS!!! Who doesn't love donuts? If you don't, we probably can't be friends and what are you doing reading my review of a donut place anyway? Jeez... Hands down, best donuts in the Cleveland area. Yes, better than dunkin and Jack frost. I'm sorry! I realize Jack is a favorite of everyones but that is just WAY too much frosting. The only thing you get out of eating those is Diabetes. This little family owned business is just delightful. Everyone behind the counter is so friendly and patient while you're spending way too long choosing your dozen box. There are so many delicious choices of donuts and other bakery items to choose from. Each one uniquely awesome. My brother would also like me to add that they have the best apple fritters...ever. He has had apple fritters far and wide and has yet to find one that rivals DL. This is the word from an avid donut consumer. He has even shipped a donut cake or two to his kids while they were at camp. They were pretty popular that week. Yes....you heard me correctly. Donut cake. Take it in, accept it, and read on. Let's take the second part of this review to discuss the phenomenon that is the "donut cake". I'm not talking about many donuts stacked up in a cake shape, oh nay nay... I am talking about an over sized singular donut. Ten to sixteen inches across, six inches thick and stuffed with frosting. I realize I said something about too much frosting at the beginning of this review, but this is different. You can order them however you'd like. Vanilla frosting on top, chocolate, pick your sprinkles, tons of different fillings, and they'll even write on it for special occasions! It is a pastry marvel...really not so much a donut as a feat of engineering. I mean, how the heck do they do that?! Actually, I don't want to know. The mystery adds to the whimsical dreams of a giant donut.... Oh, and don't worry, I took pictures in case it was just too hard to believe.
