I am a health care provider who was new to the area when I was pregnant with my second son. I looked around for a provider that would give me high quality/ low intervention healthcare. I found it with Dr. Snell and Sonoran OB but then she took a job that afforded her a better quality of life (which I can understand). I ended up at Dr. Martin's office and I regret it. My husband, who is a physician, gets so angry when I say her name that I don't dare mention it. We had a horrible labor and delivery where she talked about us negatively at the nurses station because I did not want to be induced and were resisting her interventions. (Her reason for induction did not have scientific backing and our friends who are OBs at Johns Hopkins and Cleveland Clinic were shocked she pushed me for an induction and made up facts to support her position). As a nurse and former nurse manager, I'm livid that she could not directly communicate and/or provide evidence for her position with us but would resort to gossiping at the nurses station.....where I could hear her. So not only did we end up with an unneeded induction, it was filled with negativity and anger. Please choose your OB carefully based on facts and performance, not talk. I had tried but failed and had a horrible birth experience with her and Scottsdale Shea.
