My husband and I visited here last month, and I keep meaning to write a review but I can barely figure out what to say beyond this place is a little slice of heaven on earth! I didn't expect to be so wowed by The Holden Arboretum - after all, I've been exploring the Metroparks my entire life - but everything was just breathtaking.
We paid the extra admittance for the Canopy Walk and the Emergent Tower. As another reviewer said, this definitely isn't something I'd do every visit, but I highly recommend it for your first. We spent the entire afternoon (about 6 hours) here hiking and exploring, and still weren't able to see everything.
During this summer, they have concert events where you can picnic and listen to everything from classic rock to polka which sounds like such a blast, but is a bit too far of a hike for us on a week day night. That being said, we absolutely cannot wait to spend some fall afternoons hiking here this year! Truly a gem, and an amazing way to spend an afternoon.
P.S., active duty and veterans + their families get free admission!
