| - I went to Starving Artist for brunch today after reading about it on yelp. I normally don't eat food like this so it was a special treat. It did not disappoint!
I had the breakfast benny. The potato waffle was an very nice touch. It was creamy and smooth and made it a hearty meal. The caramelized bacon was delicious. The eggs were slightly runny, but not offensively so. Also, the presentation was beautiful.
The ambience is not my favourite: noisy, cramped. Plus my friend and I were sitting by the door, so there was a draft and people standing over us at all times (we went at 1 pm today, a Sunday). But aside from that we had a lovely brunch.
I don't see myself going back here often, because I tend to stick to a healthier diet. But on special occasions, like the day before New Year's, yeah, this was perfect.
Oh yeah, there seemed to be a rush of people right after we arrived, so you may want to go earlier to avoid lineups etc.
I can't say what it's like before 1pm, but I can tell you this: we sat in the last available table and our food came out promptly.
