I came to Painting with a Twist on Valentines Day for a surprise date night. We were directed to the smaller studio in the back where 2 other couples were there. All the materials and supplies we needed were already set up in the middle of the room and the instructor greeted everyone and showed up where we could pick out our aprons. There was really cute aprons to pick out so me and the boo picked out Superman and Wonderwoman aprons.
Before we got started our instructor ( I wish I remembered his name I feel like it was Heath, I cant remember) asked us what music station we would like to be played in the our studio. Luckily we all agreed on the same music which made our evening fun, singing and dancing around as we painted. Because it was a couples themed night the painting that was preselected was a dual picture of a sunset, which was really cute.
Our instructor was really fun and helpful, he did not go too fast or slow showing us how to recreate the model painting and made everyone feel that their picture was exactly right. He was also more than willing to help paint or fix paintings that needed an expert. Half way through our class he made us stop and take a break and we played a game similar to musical chairs. We had to pass the paint brush and while the music was playing until there was 1 person left in the game. The winner received a Painting with A Twist tumbler cup which was a really fun way to take a break for the painting and stretch.
We both loved our paintings and really loved the laid back atmosphere. The only thing I wish was different was that we could've spread out more. There were 3 other tables in our room and all 6 of us were at the same time so it made it kind of tight for us to move around or paint but I understand it was probably easier for the instructor to help everyone at just 1 table.
We would definitely be back for another class, we both enjoyed it and was something different from our typical date nights.
