  • My mother wanted to go to this patisserie on her birthday. It doesn't really look fancy from the outside and the inside is also rather plain. When we entered I noted the accessible bathroom, the sparsely arranged chairs and rather dirty floor. To be fair it is the middle of winter and they probably don't have time to mop very often. My eyes were then drawn to the picture-perfect confections displayed in the glass cases. We ordered 2 little chocolate desserts and admit I stared at my "dome chocolate" (pretty much a mini-dome of chocolate mousse enrobed in dark chocolate and sprinkled with delicate gold shavings) and admired the creator's artistry for several minutes before wistfully breaking it's smooth shell. It was good, but at $6.95 I will order something different next time. My mom's raspberry chocolate torte was $6.50; I am not sure what accounts for the high prices. I can't seem to find any info about them on-line, so I don't know if it is the ingredients or the high cost of their prime location rent, but I have eaten the same or better at different places in the immediately vicinity at more reasonable prices. You can park conveniently on either side of Yonge St. or for free on the side streets.
