Ordered chicken pot pie for lunch today, server Laurie K was very helpful and prompt. I asked her about the crust and she accurately let me know it was a pie crust not puff pastry. Thank goodness! Just what I was hoping for!
The chicken pot pie was good to great. I'm not a big meat fan in pot pie and it had very little chicken in it. Some others might be disappointed by that, but there was enough chicken to have some in every few bites. The chicken it's self was sometime a bit tender and mostly a little bit tough. But the veggies were quite tender and the sauce had a fantastic flavor. Mild hint of white wine, not overpowering. The peas tasted especially fresh and green so I appreciated that a lot. Potatoes soft and well done, not firm and dreadful like 70% of pot pies have. The pie crust was good for a restaurant. Flaky, tender and firm at the same time. Decent flavor on its own. Not excessively buttery or dry.
Im glad I came back because I tried this place a couple days ago and the food wasn't as good so I was nervous. It's in the Palazzo where I was staying and I'm glad laziness won out because I was happy with lunch!
