Very excited to try out Flourshop. I was happy to see the big beautiful bar when I walked in - we didn't have reservations and it's new so expected to wait. However it turns out that the bar is not a technical first come first serve bar. Seats are controlled by the hostess so all reserved. You are not allowed to stand at the bar and order a drink from a bartender, in fact we were reprimanded twice for standing too close to the bar. There is no designated area to stand if you are waiting so we stood awkwardly by the door for over an hour. It genuinely seemed like no one has thought through the concept of comfortably accommodating patrons waiting for a table.
There were no food standouts. A very small cheese board - we asked what accompanied it on the plate and waiter said "I don't know they just start put stuff on the plate when we run out of what's supposed to be on there".
Pasta was average. Food prices are very high. Wine by the glass prices are higher.
I really hope they work these problems out. Designate an area for customers who are waiting (and paying to drink). Kick up the food and service game for those prices.
