  • Dissapointing. After my first experience of getting food poisoning, I tried to give Durrants a second chance but was disappointed again. On our second visit we went for my husband's birthday because he wanted a good steak dinner. Our waiter was very nice and accomidating. Durrants has a very cool old town gangter restaurant feeling, including the entering through the kitchen. The atmosphere is loud but adds to the experience. We were seated in a hallway close to the bar, but we did not mind until a large group of men started to crowd into the bar area in front of our table blocking the hallway and facing their butts toward a our table. They were so close to our table that when someone tried to go by our table they would slide their butt across our table to get through. It was very disturbing while we were trying to enjoy our main course with a view of large Butts. We told our waiter and he apologized, offered to move us, and had someone ask the butts to move. The butts move for a second then were back in full view. The food was underwhelming; my husband's filet was warm and dry. Again, the waiter was very nice and knew these butts were annoying and offered a free dessert. Very nice but, our meal was already spoiled. On our way out we noticed the other part of the bar area was not crowded. Why the butts decided to hang out in the crowded area against our table was a mystery. I felt bad that my husband did not get an enjoyable birthday dinner. I understand the butts were customers too, but I think management could have addressed the issue better since we were not the only table that had issues with this group and there was plenty of room on the other side of the bar. Needless to say, that was the last time we will ever go to Durrants.
