  • I had a rough morning. My much loved, waffle iron finally had the bun. I bought it at either zellers or walmart well over 10 years ago for $15 or $20. I have many fond memories of making waffles the morning after house parties (and of course with ex boyfriends). When this thing bit the dust, I had a mix of anger (because my breakfast was in it!) and nostalgia. I was going to head to one of the many department stores in this city, but decided instead to just check XS Cargo, since it is fairly close to my home. XS cargo is a liquidator of many things, so you never really know what you will find. The one guarantee is if you find what you're looking for, you're going to get it at a bargain price. Low and behold! XS Cargo DID have a waffle iron. This little number makes TWO waffles instead of one. Double your pleasure! Further, my house guest won't have to wait for theirs to cook while they watch me eat mine (haha... just joking, I do serve my guests first). The waffle iron was $9.99. That was not a typo. They also had Hamilton juicers on sale for $39.99. I got out of there before I ended up with more small kitchen appliances than I needed this Sunday. The moral of this story, is check out XS Cargo. My new waffle iron has a 30 day guarantee (so if it is a dud, I can bring it back for a refund). More importantly, I am ready to start making breakfast again next weekend. Giddy up!
