  • OK, this is a lengthy review. here's a summary: The wait is FOREVER. If you're disabled or in a hurry, skip it. If you're fully-abled with plenty of time on your hands, Tiabi is probably worth the wait. Now for the actual review: This place is very popular - there wasn't an empty seat in the house. This is a problem for me as I'm disabled. I was feeling halfway decent today and decided to take my daughter out for a (long overdue) mommy/daughter date, since I don't get to do that very often. We went inside and stared at the menu for a few minutes. It's big and on the wall near the front of the store, which is convenient. After deciding what we wanted, I walked around to find the area for placing an order. There are 3 sections where the counter is open, so they all appear to be there for communicating with the people behind the counter. After examining the other items at the counter (there's stuff everywhere), however, it wasn't obvious where to stand to place an order. One of the staff members saw the lost look on my face and directed me to the right place. Once there I noticed an ipad on the counter which I assume they use to take orders. We moved to the appropriate counter spot (which is at the front of the store, by the menu), and then waited to be helped. I was able to wait for 10 minutes, but that's when my back issues kicked in. In that time, we were given an apology, but no other eye contact or acknowledgement. I got the impression that they were overwhelmed and didn't WANT to take anymore orders. I've worked in retail and food service, so I know how that that is. It was probably a blessing that they didn't take my order, as I wouldn't have been capable of standing around much longer to wait for the food. In their defense, all 3 employees were shuffling around and working very hard. The place was just seriously understaffed. They could've used AT LEAST 2 more people today. Since my back issues don't allow me to stand for extended periods of time, I hate to say that I won't be able to return to this establishment. For anyone in the same boat - having limited physical abilities - I'd suggest ordering Tiabi for delivery if you live close enough, or just try a different waffle bar. The one at Tivoli has plenty of seating and wasn't busy when I went. I was very disappointed. My young daughter was VERY excited to try some new and desserty waffles. It kills me to get that far into the process, only to break her heart and go somewhere else. It also sucks because I'm usually in too much pain (or too medicated) to even leave the house. So when I do leave the house, every minute counts and is very special to me. Don't take your good health for granted!!!!!!!! Not entirely related, but worth noting: Across the street from Tiabi, the wash runs between Toys R Us and Seafood City. This part of the wash spawns a lot of water pokemon, which are hard to find elsewhere in the desert. I kinda wish I could leave a review without giving a star rating. Although I couldn't try the food, it's obviously good. They wouldn't have been that busy if they weren't doing something right. I just REALLY REALLY REALLY wish the owners would staff it better, or maybe expand or something. We aren't all fully-abled college students with the ability to wait around all day. I also want to mention that I'm NOT the type of person who expects everyone to cater to ME and my specific needs. My belief - no matter what side of the counter I'm on - is that if your customers are important to you, you don't make them wait more than 2 minutes to be rung up.
