While there is nothing inherently wrong with Bar Isabel, I would say the hype does not live up to the experience.
The decor is cool but the seating is uncomfortable. There is nothing wrong with the food, but it doesn't go the extra step needed to satisfy. Furthermore, I had ordered olives, croquetta & the octopus which all had very similar spice bases so I felt like they all tasted the same. Tapas in my opinion should not be so similar, as you are expected to eat several of these dishes during one meal. Furthermore, the menu isn't huge, so the choices should have more creativity and flare to differentiate.
Despite this, the cocktails did not disappoint. They are delicious and a must have.
