Update: 1st pet vet said they would have a manager call me. I had to wait until Monday since it was the weekend. They finally called in the afternoon. All she had to say was she was sorry we lost our dog, but had a million excuses for why there was a lack of competence or why they didn't recommend a sonogram if they had the means instead of recommending we pay to have all the same tests we had just done 30 mins prior at the vet that recommended we go to 1st pet for further evaluation of his tummy. I told her I would like to have the bills we paid to the vet up front waived since we did not receive proper care for our dog and because of it he died. She only kept telling me with lack of sympathy that she was sorry our dog died. Our dog was a 1st gen goldendoodle that was just 7 mos old and we had only bought him two months prior to his death, a $1700 dog and we paid well over $1000 for 9 hours of observance and every test recommended up front to to get our dog back on the ups. I had even called 1st pet vet multiple times in the week or so after and kept telling them I didn't think he was doing better and asking for advice because we were not seeing any improvement and he started to not be able to walk, we were having to tube feed him, and give subcutaneous ivs. She assured me it was just a part of the process of valley fever and to just to take him back to his regular vet once, which we had already done, and his regular vet was going off the valley fever diagnosis only since that's what 1st pet said to do so of course he wasn't getting better and we had no idea. No one can replace our dog, whom we loved dearly or make up for the fact that his life was cut so short when it didn't have to be, but I do expect, you as a vet who attends many years of schooling and requires so much money up front for your services to make right of the situation.
