Their kouign amann was REALLY good. For that alone, I would give five stars. I had every intention of bringing my little stash of goodies straight home but the thought of warm kouign aman in my hands was overwhelming. So I stopped in front of the metro station to have a couple bites. The station is only a few steps from the shop so that tells you how strong my willpower is. While it was still warm, it might as well be crack. There was an accordion player singing along to her own lively music. I'm not sure if she is really talented or whether my state of kouign amann euphoria was making her a super star. Regardless, I enjoyed her singing and music. Later that evening I fought with a four year old over the rest of the kouign amann. Even at room temperature, it might as well be crack.
The almond croissant was ok. Disappointed in that. It was not crisp and flaky like I had hoped. Also ordered one of the berry tarts. Blueberry to be exact. It was good; not too sweet. Their strawberry apricot juice was interesting. It's kind of thick. Wasn't expecting it to be like that. It reminded me of canned fruit nectar you can buy from the grocery store, but it was a refreshing drink on a warm day.
