| - I have been to Rao's several times since it opened in Vegas having been fortunate enough to have dined in their famous place in NYC.
My wife and I have come here in Vegas and choose Rao's as a place to celebrate our Anniversary the last few years. Well, we had dinner this past Saturday night (11/19/2011) and I am sad to say we'll not be coming back anytime soon.
To start with, while we were seated in one of our favorite booths, there was a large group of diners (dressed in shabby jeans, t-shirts and jerseys) seated close by that were beyond loud, even by Vegas standards. I mean loud, disruptive, vulgar and screaming to a point that everyone in the place was disgusted. While this can happen anywhere, the management of the place did nothing, even the wait staff complained to us about them. They finally left and were replace by an equally loud and obnoxious group.
The atmosphere was so bad, my wife and I decided to speed up our meal. The meal arrived and it was not up to the Rao's level of the past... I dare say verging on awful. We skipped desert finished our bottle of wine and got the bill only to find drinks added to it that was not ours at all. While the bill was adjusted, it seemed to be a topper to an awful dining experience at what was one of our favorite places to com e each time we visited Las Vegas.
