| - You know, sometimes you get lucky with finding a cheap AND decent hotel for a night or two. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky with this place.
I checked in pretty late for my stay (2AM) and the guy at the front desk didn't even say a word to me when I walked up. I said "Hi, I'm checking in" to which he responded "what's your last name?" but not until he finished his game of solitaire. Then he fiddled with the computer and some papers, again without saying anything. He then asks me to sign a paper and then just hands me the keys. He points in the direction of the elevator and then mumbles something about breakfast from 7-9:30. I wasn't expecting a grand introduction or anything, but some communication or a smile would have been nice.
Speaking of the breakfast, the hotel boasts a "deluxe continental breakfast", which actually was just 3 gross looking hard boiled eggs in a bowl, some yogurt in ice water, and a few slices of bread. There was also a sign on the table which stated that food was to not leave the breakfast area. Seriously? I'm working from the hotel and I'll take my damned breakfast back into my room if I damned well please!
The hotel room was your average lower end hotel room. The bed was not comfortable, but it was doable. However, it didn't really scream clean and I was sort of itchy at times, but maybe it was from the overall feel from the hotel. Ick. Also, the samples of shampoo/conditioner were obviously opened and used prior to my visit. Really?
I'm all about saving money and hotels around Cleveland can get expensive, but I would pick somewhere else to lay your head.
