| - "It's like eating a fluffy white cloud"
So this place you may notice, if you drive by Main St in Unionville always has a line up of people in it. Seriously, it's a lineup that always goes to the street and is full of people worse than finding parking at Pacific Mall. They don't sell very many things, only Madeline's, (4 varieties), ice cream, and cheesecake.
Not your typical cheesecake with a berry compote or key lime, chocolate, or anything like that. They serve a Japanese style plain cheesecake. It's a round cheese cake that costs $10. Despite the lack of selection or flavours this place always has a lineup of people. I thought why the heck not, let me check out the craze.
I've tried 3 times waiting in line and two of those times the baby woke up and I couldn't wait in line anymore so I finally got to a point where baby was quiet and I could buy a cheesecake (one per person btw).
You go in to this tiny little shop and you see workers working tirelessly making cheese cakes, cooling and stamping them.
The cake:
If you eat it warm, it really is like eating a cloud. So light, airy, fluffy, and flavourful. Such a soft delicate texture that you could if you're not careful eat a whole cake in one very fast sitting. I bought two and had one hot and kept one in the fridge. The texture for the most part is what makes it worth while. It's fresh, not flown in frozen and resold from the cheesecake factory, and it's delicious.
It's a nice dessert to serve that has to be the softest, fluffiest, cake I've ever eaten. I'd eat one again, if the line is short.
