| - massage envy in las vegas.. as well as in california, is a complete scam!!!
I have been an massage therapist for 20 years now, educated in sweden, at the most prestigious massage school in the world. I came to Massage envy, because my previous private massage therapist had moved to a different state. I am an athlete and have some what more muscles than the average guy I guess, but it wasn't so much the lack of pressure in the 10 or 15 different massage therapists that I tried during my 8 month "membership" (scam) that bothered me.. more so the lack of basic massage skill, experience, knowledge in anatomy and last but not least, the lack of taking each and every client and give a massage according to what the individual person needs. The massage is Mechanical and even after asking them (the massage therapist) to please do or not do something - use "grips" and "strokes" that I prefer.. they would simply respond that " they don't do that" or basically have no clue what the hell I'm talking about...
well enough about the "really not so good massage therapist"...
let me mention the numerous times the massage was less than the 50 mins I paid for!!! that's straight out bad business.. unless you looked at the clock as you began... and as you finished, you would have never known...
the front desk people are ignorant and snotty!!!! they are more worried about how much of a "tip" you are going to leave, rather than the quality of the massage...
Numerous times did they also screw up my appointments... so that I got there, and just sat down in their "relaxation room" when one of the many receptionists came in and told me that somehow the idiot making the reservation had double booked the massage therapist.. oh well, too bad for me ( the client) I guess I have to go home again... and return at a later time.. No compensation was offered.. unbelievable..
the last straw, was when I went to one in california (huntington beach) the massage therapist, if I should even call her that.. she must have bought her massage certificate online.. she spent 15 minutes of my massage "stretching me" (I paid for a massage, I can stretch on my own.. thank you very much) then, on top of it all she gave my a total of 40 mins.. even though I paid for an hour.. when I walked out, and "checked out" as they call it, they asked me " how it was" I said in a disappointing voice, " not good" i don't know what else would have needed to say, to get one of these high school kids at the front desk a hint , that maybe they should have the manager or someone with a brain call me to find out why I was so NOT happy with paying for something that I never got!!!!
so,
in conclusion, i finally decided to ( for the second time) call the Massage Envy in Boca Park Las vegas... to speak to the manager and ask for them to cancel this joke of a massage establishment.. but rather than to let an un-happy customer of the hook, they argued with me about having 3 mos left on "contract".. talk about shitty service...
the only 1 massage therapist that I came across during the period when I was going there..that was actually good, he told me that Massage envy pay their therapist CRAP, and so therefor any actually good massage therapist wont stay working there for long, because they can make so much more money on their own.. so what happens is, that Massage envy gets the "Not so talented" massage wanna bee's that have little or no clue how to give a rejuvenating, relaxing, or deep tissue, trigger point treatment etc..
but yes, for someone that don't know better, they might get fooled and think they are getting a great massage..lol.. oh well.. For you who have higher standards on the massage you get, trust me, you're better off going to find a private person..
Massage envy is a big money maker I'm sure for the owners.. but a complete joke when it comes to a good massage...
