Whenever we're at another establishment in Lawrenceville, someone has enough drinks to think coming here is a good idea.
Remedy has cheap drinks, less than enthused employees, and smoking allowed, so it seems like your average dive. But when you add that it is typically PACKED and somehow quiet downstairs with too much upstairs, it's just gross. I'm all for cheap drinks, but it's just not worth it. I'm not expecting five star mixology for my well whiskey ginger but maybe a little effort. The draft list kind of saves it. That gives this a "meh". Upstairs typically has dancing in the tiniest room with an even tinier limited bar. It's a bajillion degrees and just ..weird. There's also a pool table up here somehow even though there's definitely not enough space for it.
The whole thing just makes me uncomfortable. I know lots of friends absolutely love the place, but it's dingy and boring. Also I don't understand why everyone is using the term "hipster" with Remedy.. Previously, that was very Lawrenceville. It fit and other than Belvedere's, you didn't have many options. Now that the area is booming, there are plenty of other spots to get a decent drink in the atmosphere you want.
