| - Who knew darts would be the new thing?
The stretch of Woodbine Avenue between Steeles & HWY 7 holds some true Markham gems of both culinary, and leisurely aspirations.
Apparently, iDarts is an international brand with locations in the United States, Australia, Malaysia, and perhaps some other countries. Normally, I would not associate darts as a popular social activity for young people. It's in the same category as pool, snooker, and other sports that reminds me of cigarette smoke. This venue proves once and for all that it's not the sport, it's how you market it.
The arcade dart machines (yes machines) are fully interactive, and the target and the darts themselves are not conventional tools used for the activity. The needle part is actually some kind of a synthetic material, and the target is made of something even more mysterious. All I know is, it works. You may purchase real darts from here, an you'd be utterly shocked when you learn that a professional set of (4) darts can cost up to $200. Lucky, the services and the booze here is nowhere near that range.
They have these beer towers in the shape of lamps with a illuminated thing int he middle, it's just makes beer look so much more gorgeous. Almost as gorgeous as the smiley faces that brings them to you. iDarts feels somewhat like a nightclub, but in a good way. The music is anything but overbearing, the lighting is just perfect, and if there are options for none dart enthusiasts. Two pool tables, a bar, a full sized beer bong table, and just tables for drinking with friends. Beer pong table! What is this, a college frat house? I think I love this place.
The machines require you to purchase credits, and this is very much of a bar. Considering the mixture of unique activities offered in this; Canada's first iDarts, the mixture of all the services is just as good as it gets. What could be more exciting on a Saturday night than getting hammered while throwing pointy objects designed to penetrate solid surfaces within close proximity of one another, in the company of good music and some seriously cute waitresses?
