  • It's been 3 years since my last review and after last nights experience, I had to update it. I made reservations for 6p as soon as I could - January I believe - for 4/19 as I got my nephew the b-day gift of tickets to a show at 8p and he wanted to try bone marrow. So what aunt doesn't try to fulfill that wish!? (different nephew than previous review). Traffic was horrendous yesterday evening and I even gave us 45 minutes to get to the reservations when it typically takes 15 minutes. Knowing that i was going to be - at most 10 minutes late. I gave Meat & Potatoes the courtesy of letting them know I was going to be a few minutes late. Come to find out when I get to the restaurant at 6:03 (THREE MINUTES LATE) - they moved our reservation to 6:30. First - who does that without telling you?! I said i would be at most 10 minutes late - I said while on the phone I didn't expect more than 5 minutes. I had made our reservations at 6p so that he could get and enjoy his food and we could get to the show with plenty of time- he's 13 from out of town - he wanted to experience something new! Second - they tell me - we have you checked in and will seat you in the next 5 minutes. We didn't get seated till 6:45 - 45 minutes after we arrived. 45 minutes after our reservations that I had confirmed via text message (their alert and Yelps alert!) that I had reservations at 6p. I finally said something to the hostess at 6:45 as they had seated WALK INS before us. That's when the steam started coming out of my ears. While we were waiting - a group of 4 came in - and were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. They had reservations for Thursday night - NOT tuesday - however the hostess was able to seat them. Low and behold - when we finally got seated - they were seated beside us - at 2 - 2 tops put together. I had a waitress that rolled her eyes at me when I told her we had a show to get to at 8p - and that it took forever to seat us. My nephew didn't get the experience i had intended (as I had made reservations with 2 hours leeway!!!) I don't blame myself for that. I blame meat and potatoes. We didn't get our food till 7:25 - how are we supposed to enjoy anything? We had to immediately ask for our check. Oh - and we only ordered appetizers as there wasn't time for anything else - so you lost money as well. Meat & Potatoes has likely lost my business by this. The hostesses were rude and incompetent. The waitress was rude. I eat out often. I am a "foodie" - I love trying the new places and eating at favorites. But not at Meat & Potatoes. The whole situation could have been avoided if I hadn't been a courteous customer and not called. Lesson learned. No reason to be a courteous patron to Meat and Potatoes folks! Just show up as a walk in - you'll get seated faster than you would with a CONFIRMED reservation.
