| - Wow, for the past couple weeks we visited just about all the top breakfast spots in Madison, and this place did not disappoint!
Being here on a Sunday morning at 10am, the place was full! It's not saying much considering the size of the place (same size as my bedroom) but that just adds to the atmosphere. It feels like you just had a sleepover at your neighbor's place and just woke up to a ton of delicious food.
I went with the croissant sandwich, which had all the regulars: cheese, nice slices of ham, warm, puffy croissant, but they threw something extra that made all the difference: *edit: figtapenade* some kind of jelly that added sweetness to everything else, and I have to say, the sandwich sure did the job. Plate also came with potatoes and a tiny portion of fruit, refreshing and leaves you wanting for more.
Only thing this place can do better is change the layout so that people don't have to step on each other to get seated, and all the tables/chairs feel pretty old...but I guess that's part of what they're going for.
Overall, Sophia's does not carry a large menu, but after my experience here I'm convinced to comeback and try another item, and...carry out of course!
