I don't get the hype. I was really excited when I heard that origin was coming to Liberty Village. After trying a few things on the menu and visiting a few times. I can honestly say that I don't really care for this place.
I've had quiet a few things on the menu so far and nothing was good. Everything was either too sour, too salty or things didn't taste balanced - the japanese pear and tuna salad for example, with all those delicious ingredients, how can you mess it up by dousing it in so much of that salty mess of a dressing? I LOVE japanese pears, avocado and tuna but it was agonizing to eat that dish through that oddly salty and unbalanced "dressing"- this salad was more like soup because there was so much of that awful dressing in the dish- my salad (was presented in a tower format) was swimming in it.
I've also had the spanish fries- again, such a delicious sounding combination of ingredients but it was TOO SALTY!
The hand roll was nothing special (seriously- if you're charging close to $10 for a hand roll, at least make it interesting or imaginative or bigger- this was a rip off)
Tosdatas were the only "OK" dishes (I've tried them all) but nothing to charge that much $$ for.
The hamburger at almost $20 was super disappointing (didn't even come with an accompaniment of salad or fries, just a lone burger on a great white dish lol)
I don't remember what else I've eaten there but I've never tasted anything delicious or inventive there yet.
