  • I hate to love this theatre and love to hate it so, I'm here all the time, obviously. Sunridge Spectrum was getting a bit outdated but I'm happy to report that it is under renovations. So the good news is the old, semi-smelly, kinda-dingy space is getting a facelift but the bad news is that Sunridge Spectrum is under construction. It's still open for your movie-going pleasure but the restaurant part is under construction. For food options, there is the main popcorn counter, a gourmet popcorn place (the name has slipped my mind), outtakes with Pizza 73, burgers, poutine and wraps... etc. There is still a bunch of options for food, but there is no place to sit and eat it. I was super early for my movie so I think most people just eat in the auditorium, but I snuck into the other of the theatre and ate on a couple of tables and chairs that were set up to the side. I like Sunridge Spectrum because it has an arcade and is very close to other restaurants. It is also one of the only theatres that plays ethnic movies and black movies from the States (like Tyler Perry, Kevin Hart's Get Hard..etc.) and I can't wait for the renos to be complete, from the looks of it it's going to be a really cool cinema experience.
