My son started going to Coronado Prep in Dec of 2015. We had him going to another pre-school near our home since he was 1. At that school he wasn't learning anything. It was more like a playground than anything. He was behind. Couldn't recognize his alphabet, his numbers, or could barely hold a pencil. We had to take him out of that school and I started home teaching him. At the time I was unemployed and had the time. I found a job and had to start looking into another school/daycare. A friend recommended Coronado Prep. I went over to check the school out. Everyone there was very friendly, and seemed to be into all the kids. Even the kids were friendly. We agreed that we would give it a try, the prices were super affordable, and the owner was willing to work with me on a few issues. So, the first few weeks my son comes home, we go to put him to bed and read a bed time story, he starts reading the numbers at the bottom of the page. I was confused cause I didn't think he knew it and that he couldn't learn that fast. I asked him and he said his teacher taught him. We permanently enrolled him. This school follows a really good pre-k standard curriculum and all the cognitive development goodies. My son is always asking me to go to school, and he has made really good friends there. The school is a little bit of a drive for us, but its well worth it. I think there is a lot of schools that like to focus on their outside image and neglect the kids needs. This is definitely not one of them.
