Really bizarre. Hertz makes it unnecessarily complicated to pick up a car that has already been reserved months back. We have to get in line just to be directed by a real-life associate to speak to a "live expert" at a kiosk thingy where you speak to them via video (similar to FaceTime). There they will try to get you to upgrade your car or add on other unnecessary expenses - basically just wasting your time. For example the expert asked how much I got the car on Expedia for - does it matter?! Then she tries to get us to purchase car insurance when we already did online months earlier. Be careful! Instead of having about 8-10 of these kiosks, why not just hired more associates to do the same things but in person. That would be so much less aggravation. Be prepared to spend at least 30 minutes there.
After all is said and done you go downstairs to a large parking lot to get your assigned vehicle. Interestingly, you don't do a walkthrough of the car with anyone. You just take the car, show some worker your driver's license, and then exit.
Returning the car is much easier than the pick up process and takes like one minute.
P.S. There is a free shuttle that goes to and from the airport to the location of the car rental. Frequent, convenient, and close-by.
