  • This place was one of the first restaurants I tried when I moved to Montreal years ago, so when it was under a different ownership. I really really liked their cheeseburger then. Recently I went back and found their burger was still as good as before, if not better. It was juicier and you could tell that the quality of the meat was good because they had the confidence to serve it slightly undercooked. The thing is, our server didn't give me a heads up that this was their typical way of serving it, so while I was enjoying the juicy bites I was equally worried that I might get sick later. At the end of the meal I asked the server and she assured me it was normal for them to cook it that way. Phew. Everything else on my plate was good too: the coleslaw, the fries. My companion ordered fried chicken served with kale salad and bbq sauce. The chicken was alright, but it wouldn't be something we would re-order. I found the ambiance really pleasant, though it's not clear what kind of category this place would fall in. The setting suggested (clean) greasy spoon, but the price and menu (simple with an air of je-ne-sais-quoi) didn't make it quite so. If you're just looking for a recommendation for a burger place tho and don't mind forking around $15, you got one in this.
