  • Went to this hospital because of its location at the time of my emergency. First off, the nurses here are fantastic! That's what the 2 stars are for. Very caring and attentive. Just to let future patients know, this ER operates differently than most. You get triaged, then taken back to get seen by a doctor, after all is said and done they will make you go back to the waiting room and wait for more info. If you are not dying you will not get a bed. This isn't a bad thing since the nurses were constantly keeping me dosed on pain medication while in the waiting room. They do this to keep beds open for truly ill patients. I have a history of kidney stones and kidney infections and when the doctors did an ultrasound they said I had nothing and then proceeded to treat me like a drug addict aching for pain meds. After a week of unendurable pain I went back, the discharge forms said to go back there if pain persisted. Again, nursing staff was great but Drs treated me like addict. Finally got an appointment with my urologist who took one look at the ultrasounds this hospital did and he was shocked nobody had noticed the 7-9mm stone obstructing my left kidney. Two weeks later and one surgery later and thankfully I'm better. I used to think summerlin hospital was a joke but after going here I'll never speak ill of their, summerlin's, practices again. Thanks for almost sending me into renal failure and making me feel like a junky spring valley hospital! Lucky I didn't listen to you.
