Walked in late in the evening. Sweet Daddy Cupcake employee was towards the back doing some cleaning. Big trash can was in the middle of the floor (behind the counter) which leads me to believe they were taking care of closing duties and cleaning. Employee approaches us to see what we would like. We got a 4-pack. This is why this place gets a 3-star from me: the employee was NOT wearing gloves when picking and placing our cupcakes into the box. The reason this is a big deal to me is because I noticed as he used his pinch grip around the cupcake baking paper and tried to place it down into the box, his hand was not wide enough to avoid the massive frosting on top of the cupcake and ended up touching more than just the cupcake baking paper itself. I then asked, "Do y'all not use gloves?" and the employee said "Uhhhhhmmm, whatchu call it... ummm no." A second employee (operating the register) jumps in and says, "That's why we have him grab the cupcakes and I handle the money." My reply was simply, "Well I noticed he was doing some cleaning earlier, so I suggest y'all start wearing gloves." We took our purchase and left. Ate our cupcakes and enjoyed them (not all 4 at once, of course).
Overall:
Cupcakes: 5-stars! - Delicious. Moist. Sweet but not too sweet. A little heavy on the frosting, but that's all part of the design.
Customer service: 1-star - Poor. How difficult is it to put on a pair of gloves when handling the customer's cupcakes? Pretty basic food handling protocol.
