  • Wild Horse Pass resides in a beautiful desert locale with all the usual amenities one expects from a destination resort. Two restaurants, a coffee shop, spa, pool, conference rooms and outdoor areas for weddings and parties, etc. On the plus side, I the service was great. Always attentive and friendly. The valets, front desk, room service, and restaurant staff were engaged and did their best whenever I needed assistance. Follow through and communication was particularly strong. And I was upgraded to a suite at check in, which was a nice perk. Their fine dining restaurant, Kai, has a good reputation, but I didn't get a chance to try it. Perhaps I should have because I was underwhelmed by the other options. I found the food from Ko'sin and their banquet services to be typical hotel fare; average and overpriced. Nothing really bad, but nothing memorable or unique either. And the selection lacked variety or as much southwest influence as I might have expected. Though again, I want to note that the service was very good. I also had mixed feeling about fit and finish of the property. The native southwest theme was fine but the decor was a bit out of date and in various states of repair. My suite was incredibly spacious, with great views, but it wasn't very comfortable. The couch was too hard to want to lounge on. The TV too small to see well. The dining table chairs were awkward, which made sitting at the table difficult. And the work desk was too small, with a chair that was loose and lacking in support. And the bed was too bouncy, which made sleep hard to come by. These are my own issues of course, but as subjective as they may be, I think people will readily see what I mean. I've been fortunate to have stayed in many wonderful resort properties around the world, so at the risk of appearing immodest, I think I have a pretty good perspective on what makes a good resort and what doesn't. And while there were plenty of things I enjoyed about my stay, the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass isn't someplace I would seek out. Which is unfortunate, because the best resorts are places the make you look forward to returning to again and again. And Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass isn't that.
