Unfortunately my review is not a good one. On June 15 someone entered into my room and stole my possessions. According to one of the security guards there at the hotel.. there were approximately 4-5 incidences where hotel guest had problems with their doors malfunctioning or not closing properly. On this day. I left my room pulling the door closed. To downstairs to escort my cousin back to my room. When arriving at my room I was unable to enter the room because my key would not work and the light on the door was red. I'm assuming that the thief was in my room with the deadbolt on causing the key not to work. I left the room to go get another key and when I returned I entered my room to find that someone had entered it, leaving their item under the TV that my cousin or I had not place there. After searching the room to see if the perpetrator was still in the room I figured out that they had left. After noticing my ID on the cushion under the TV near where the thief's item was. I realize that my bag with my important items had been stolen.. Notifying security and they made a report.
In the evening when my family was in the room my nephew decided to test the door to see if something was malfunctioning with the door..without me knowing it. He slammed the door as he exited and then bump the door from the outside and it opened again. So surely Mandalay Bay Delano has a problem with their door closing mechanism. I write this review to give future guest I heads up on this issue..
this incident is costing me a considerable amount of money and heartache the loss replaceable precious items as well as and many hours/days to resolve all of the things that have come about because of this theft..
I have received no phone calls from Delano at Mandalay Bay about the issue.. the only information I get is when I called them and they passed me on to someone else..
This incident has really affected me staying in hotels now. And my job as a flight attendant requires me to stay in hotels.. I have been in no way compensated for my losses or even a letter of apology concerning what happened..
