My friend had been raving about Nadege for months so I finally went in with him over the weekend to try it.
The space is beautiful, clean, modern and the ladies working the counter are ever so pleasant and courteous. She gave us lots of help in choosing and let us take our time.
Just wanted a coffee and a pain au chocolat but my eyes did all the eating and we ended up with:
Two iced americanos
an almond and chocolate croissant
Mojito macaron and Camembert macron (special cause it was Bastille Day!)
Fig and Goat cheese croissant sandwich.
We took a seat on the patio where they brought our food. The almond chocolate croissant is probably as close to perfection as you can get. Rich and smooth with just a hint of almond flavour - the croissant wasn't too buttery and just the perfect amount of flake. I loved that it was chocolatey without being messy... just seriously amazing. Been craving it every since.
Their macarons are OK... I find them way too buttery for my liking. The mojito was refreshing but the Camembert tasted like feet (I also hate camembert so y'know... if you like it you would have loved the macaron)
The fig and goat cheese sandwich was outstanding. Just the perfect proportions and the figs in it were incredible.
I have been cursing my friend all week for introducing me to Nadege. I live and work much too far from it to satisfy the intense cravings I have been having all week for it. It might be a good thing since I am sure I would be there every saturday morning with a book or a crossword sitting on that patio indulging in delicious treats. But what I would do for another almond chocolate croissant....
