| - I have held off on reviewing The Lofts at Rio Salado for months now. I sincerely dislike leaving low-scoring reviews, but in the interest of warning anyone who might be considering this apartment complex, I feel it's important that I leave a quick note...
Moved into the Lofts 13 months ago and signed a 13 month contract. My partner and I were VERY excited about our new fourth-floor studio loft apartment. It was a bit of a budget stretch, but so spacious! Huge kitchen, SUCH high ceilings, a beautiful west-facing view...
Unfortunately, the experience took a pretty fast nose-dive from there. We just moved out over the past week or two because of issues such as inconsistent billing (resulting in sky-high rental costs and fees without any explanation of what those costs/fees related to), regular college student raves so loud they literally shook the building, a severe lack of attention to tenant care, countless changes in staffing and property management, complete neglect of property cleanliness and upkeep... Ugh. The list goes on and on.
It's unfortunate, because we really did have high hopes for the Lofts. In fact, we were even sad to move out because we sincerely loved our studio; just couldn't handle all the many inconveniences (and OUTRAGEOUSLY high costs!!) attached to it.
In the course of our time at The Lofts at Rio Salado, we witnessed literally dozens of front office staff changes. I don't know that anyone in that office lasted longer than two or three months. We only had to put in service requests on two occasions and both requests were lost (or ignored) multiple times before finally being addressed.
When we finally decided to leave, we filled out our Notice to Vacate in person with the property manager only to find out a few weeks later that the paperwork had somehow been lost. This resulted in multiple notices (emails, phone calls, papers stuffed in our door) from the front office "warning" us that we still needed to provide our notice if we intended to move out.
The most unbearable factor was definitely the monthly rent. Our rental costs ranged wildly each month, totaling anywhere from $1200 to $1800 before major utilities. The range was always related to "Additional Fees" which no one could ever seem to detail for us no matter who we asked. This MAJORLY disrupted our budget, as you might imagine.
The whole experience just ended up being a disaster. As a result of this, I would absolutely never return to The Lofts at Rio Salado. And I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, either. I'm sure that management here really *was* trying... But the end result was a pretty complete fail. :-/
Sorry Lofts. I *wanted* to like you...
