| - A freind and I just stayed here over the weekend. SWOON!!!!
What kind of freakshow wouldn't give this place 5 stars, that's what I want to know!
So I had a friend in town and we booked spa appointments. The use of the spa allows you to use the facilities. So we got there early and checked into the spa. We were given a tour and lockers and promptly hightailed it to the pool.
Gorgeous views? Beyond? Attentive service? Beyond. I loved the waiters who came through with free little snacks: rice krispy treats dipped in chocolate and berries, frozen grapes, fruit cups. What a nice touch. The margaritas we had were outstanding. I had the prickly pear and the cucumber lime. Both were delicious, but the cucumber lime was my favorite. Very refreshing on a hot day.
We shimmy over to the spa and got our treatments. AMAZING. We each had a facial and massage and I pretty much turned stupid afterwards. The spa is relaxing, gorgeous and you can't help but to be in a zen place.
We loved our room with the great patio overlooking the mountains. The room was super spacious, had L'Occitane products to relax in the massive tub.
We opted for dinner at Proof and lucked out as it as a special running for a 3 course beer tasting menu. SCORE. I am a beer snob! Some of the items are available on the regular menu, some were created specifically for the tasting. If you eat at proof get the grilled cheese/tomato soup appetizer. It ain't right! This is 'grown up' grilled cheese: proscuitto, bacon/tomato, jam, and god knows what else.
We had a great time at dinner with the renegade massive toad that takes residence on the restaurant balcony..
Free parking is rare and is usually horrendous at high end resort. Free here as well as free wifi! Kudos to that.
In all, we were sad to leave the next day and it was a great overnight!
