| - I've put off doing this review for entirely too long, and I apologize for that. Full disclosure: I've been he Duke of Wren House Brewing for two years running now, so clearly I like the place.
Wren House Brewing will always have a special place in my heart. When I moved into the neighborhood five years ago, there was little local craft beer to be found anywhere nearby. The closest were SunUp & OHSO, which were still decently far from me, and they're... just okay in my opinion. When I heard about Westward Brewing (original name) coming in, I was ecstatic. I told myself, "Even if the beer is terrible, I hope the folks are nice enough that I can finally have a regular local watering hole". Not only are the people who operate the place real gems, but they've consistently proved themselves to be among the top breweries in the state and even nationally. This has kept me coming back at least weekly for as long as they've been around. For me, it is a place to work, as it often has a cool coffee shop vibe when they aren't too busy. It is a place to relax, to enjoy the company of other locals and out-of-towners alike, and drink incredible beer. Even if I go without my wife, I can always find good company there - especially since I can now call the baristas my friends.
I also have to thank them for starting a trend for the area. Since WH came along we've gotten Helton, Helio Basin, and the Wandering Tortoise. So now we're right in the middle of more delicious craft beer than you can shake a stick at!
The beer is phenomenal and the employees are stellar personalities. If you need me, I'll be at the bar.
