I received no welcome,{nothing warm or friendly} ,the older lady handing out the programs seemed cranky. When I smiled at the organist she gave me a cold stare as if not trusting my smile. What can you do when someone is like that ? {I sat near the organ because I was hoping to see someone play it, and was really happy to be there }. When we were supposed to shake hands with people nearby I was given the hairy-eyeball from a guy who was there with his young daughter. I noticed that the icy organist had {after playing} gone to sit in a few rows up with who I guessed to be her son and his family { she sat near him not the wife }, and this guy was dressed in tacky shorts and a t-shirt. For God's sake , it's an unfriendly place and people go there dressed as if they were home in their living room with a beer and a football game. The pastor was sitting in for the regular pastor and he gave what to me was an uncomfortable sermon because it was one of those LECTURES as if you really SCREWED UP instead of an intelligent imparting of some wisdom. I think the world is negative enough already, why get a stern attitude at church when what you'd like is to learn something and be relaxed enough to listen ? You know, have an uplifting experience not a rebuke. An intelligent situation in other words. This was my experience from perhaps a year ago or so.
