Karsh's was introduced into my life when a friend of mine began working there about a handful of years ago. I was missing my surrogate family back home in Los Angeles one Passover season (as one of their honorary Jews), and so he took me to Karsh's where I was able to pick up some good rye bread, challah, and a few confections here and there. It immediately became my favorite Jewish bakery in Phoenix...but then again, there weren't many others, either. Conveniently located in the same plaza as Scott's Generation (the best for corned beef sandwiches and Matzoh ball soup in the valley). Although mainstreamers will say it's all about Chompie's, the Karsh's and Scott's combination is a winning pair. Prices are fair and the folks behind the counter are friendly. I've heard their cakes are good, too.
