| - I stayed here quite on accident after a delayed flight caused me to miss a connector. My airline put me up for the night and their usual go-to hotels were taken, so I received a voucher for Hotel San Carlos. I went into my (actually, Clark Gable's) room, which felt... special. For the first time in a life that has involved hundreds of nights in hotels, I asked the staff if my room in specific was haunted or the hotel in general was haunted. They said people claim it is but they didn't buy the stories. I'd say there's room for doubt.
That sensation of not being alone came and went repeatedly. I watched a little tv until it began to sound like the flatscreen tv was boiling. I turned the volume down and walked towards it. The boiling sound continued, and I was definitely in the right area. I turned the tv off. As it turned off, the boiling sound faded, and when it went completely off the sound completely stopped. I turned the tv back on to see if it would happen again. It didn't that I know of. I fell asleep, woke up to catch my connecting flight, informed the staff of what I'd heard, and they told me they had no idea what could have caused that sound. The tv in that room is by some water pipes, so maybe that's the source? I dunno. All in all, the place is just fine.
