  • The ElCo is a locals favorite. Just a block or two away from Fremont Street and half of the rooms have stunning strip views. Solid casino and a no-nonsense feel to it it appeals to those who demand value. Proximity to FSE is excellent. Those light shows are loud if your too close. Like all of Downtown this hotel is becoming ever more beautiful. Renovations and cleaning things up just like at the Plaza. When I was a freshly minted 21 year old and a student I particularly loved and appreciated the low prices on room rates. Today though I'm a bit less price sensitive. There is something to really love about downtown Vegas. Its slower paced. More diverse people. Shorter walks to get to your hotel room and car. More alive... I usually stay at a Harrahs property with loyalty benefits but on NYE or EDC or CES this hotel would be high on my list as an option. For gambling and food its always a good option.
