My first stay at a La Quinta ever and I'd consider the chain again. I was at this hotel on a business trip and I needed everything to be fast and efficient so I could make it to my meetings on time.
Check-in was a breeze and I was in my room in minutes. The free & relatively fast Wi-Fi was an added bonus and easy to access.
The elevator was slow and rickety, but the gold brushed detail on the inside was impressive. The room appeared to be clean and modern but the beds were AWFUL. They really were: saggy in the middle and the box spring edges poked me when I sat on the side of the bed. The pillows were a little on the stiff side, too. The way the room was configured (an awkward octagonal shape, maybe?) the light from the hallway was blocked, but on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night, the glare bothered me. No need to cut on the bathroom light! The hallway illuminated it for you!
The breakfast in the morning was your standard juice/coffee & fruit/make-your-own waffle, but the breakfast area was clean, well-lit and each table was adorned with a fresh flower. Nice touch, La Quinta!
Overall, I'd try another La Quinta and maybe be hopeful the beds aren't as crappy.
