The rooms have been renovated and found them to be fairly nice. There is no refrigerator or safe in the rooms. We had a view of the strip which was nice and you could see the people bungy jumping off the tower. The food selection they had available at the hotel was decent and we had food on the second story food court and at the buffet which we ate at. The self parking garage is a little past the hotel on the side street. Most of the parking is on the 3rd and 4th floor. The elevator to the garage can be accessed by exiting the hotel near the Starbucks and walk to the garage if not the bridegway in the on the third floor and you have to either take the stairs or the escalator to the casino level of the hotel. As with most Vegas hotels, smoking is allowed and even in non-smoking rooms, people smoke in the hallways or near the elevator so it's not like you can be smoke free totally in the hotel. Despite the reviews that I've read about the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised and pleased about the Stratosphere. Yes, it is a good hike to the rest of Vegas but it's certainly not as congested as the other hotels either.
