My experience with this hospital has been great - but, like all hospitals, your experience really depends on which ward you are in and which doctors and nurses you are dealing with.
The hospital itself is very clean and very modern. Not necessarily in decor - but they have a great cafeteria, which is more like a healthier food court, and a really nice gift shop and drug store. The main entrance has huge rotating glass doors that move automatically, and slowly. I happen to find this very cool. It is helpful if you are going through with a wheelchair or stroller. It is very TTC accessable, with the bus pulling right up into the hospital lot and making 2 or 3 stops at different wings.
The surgeons and nurses I dealt with were all excellent, and made a scary procedure a little easier for me and my family. I felt I was in good hands, and their follow up has been great.
A hospital is never a great place to be, but I feel Sunnybrook has gone above and beyond to make this a nice place for its patients and their visitors.
