After being slightly intimidated by the whole concept of "crossfit", I reached out to them on twitter and signed up for a free consultation. I was 30 mins late and after apologizing, Michael (the owner) was pretty cool about and I ended up trying out some of the exercises. I was shown a lot of variations for pull-ups, rope pull thingies and other unconventional exercises that didn't seem like I was exercising - if that makes sense.
I told my boyfriend about Argon and we both tried out a free class on a Saturday which ended up being a heavy cardio day! Classes are small, around 6 people per class and everyone is friendly and encouraging. No one judges you and if you're the last person finishing a set, instead of people watching and waiting around, they are cheering you on. I was really impressed with how Michael runs his facility, I ended up telling two more friends who are equally amazed and bought memberships.
Argon gets 4 stars in my book, only because there is no change room or showers. It's a great place and it's about time one opened up in the east end of downtown!
