| - I have lived at Quarterside for about two years now. I feel like I can genuinely review this community in its entirety due to my lease ending soon. It has been such a great experience and I have met some really nice people!
To begin, I would like to stress that you WONT find anything UPTOWN as affordable as Quarterside. You get a lot of "bang" for your buck here! Trust me, I have done my research. I am not just talking about affordably. I am talking about safety and location too!
In the two years that I lived here, I haven't had any problems with the crime. Furthermore, I also have never seen any homeless people frequent the area. The reason being is because the police station is literally steps away from the complex. Also a plus, the parking garages are gated and elevators can only be accessed by residents. Safety is not an issue point blank.
The location is fantastic and is the main reason why I decided to live here for more than one year. In my opinion it is one of the best locations for apartment living in Charlotte! Why? Because it is walking distance to everything uptown. More importantly, it is only one block away from the greenway! Not a lot of people know this, but the greenway gives access to many "hotspots" in Charlotte. Just to list a few are Elizabeth, Metropolitan, Dilworth, Freedom park, and Southend. Now, with that being said unless you are an avid runner, you can only reach the further areas by bike. I have done it several times and I am not even in "shape".
As for the management, I am not sure where to begin. Since I have been here I have seen three property managers come and go. Some were good, some were bad. I am not even sure why no one will stay. Is it really that hard to manage this place? Maybe they are under tight guidelines? I am not sure, but that brings me to the downside. With management frequently changing I have had some terrible service. I have experienced maintenance requests not being full filled and a dirty pool all season. Luckily, the current management is doing a great job!
If it wasn't for the affordability, safety, and location then I would have rated the community only three stars. Although I have had bad experiences with management, I don't want that to weight my decision for the community as a whole. At the end of the day I have had a great time living uptown, and would recommend Quarterside to anyone looking for the "ideal" spot.
