The hallways in this hotel smell, as do the actual rooms. I was here for a wedding and was in several rooms on the first floor. A bad smell, sort of like dirty linen or mildew, was present in all of them. Seemed "dingy" for $145 a night (that was with the wedding rate).
It was also disappointing that the staff seemed unwilling to accommodate the bride, who made reservations here 2 years before. For example, the first night the Bridal party and groomsmen stayed over and had reserved two suites. The hotel gave the men one king sized bed and one room-NOT the adjoining suites that had been reserved. The guys mostly slept on the floor and got horrible sleep the night before the wedding. Really disappointing.
Staff was absolutely unapologetic. Would not even let the Bridal party check into rooms early. When we called from the bride's room to get extra pillows and towels, no one even answered the phone and we had to leave a message. What hotel doesn't man it's desks?
This particular Holiday Inn Express is no good. The only reason it got 2 stars is because the manager attempted to help us when she was present and I think she's struggling to sail a sinking ship.
