| - A damn hidden gem in Old Brooklyn: Gelato that is made right in the back of the store
Background:
There's some unique rotating flavors like Queso (yes, cheese-flavored for the gringos), pistachio, tiramasu (not sure how they pull that off), dolce, about 20 flavors available at time.
The price points are quite reasonable too - you can get good 2-3 scoop portions for $4. A single scoop is just $2.50. Tasty gelato. Don't expect organic mecchanio cherries from Michigan, but just the classic ones from a can, that's good enough for me.
Note, the place is tiny and only offers enough seating for 3-4 total and the scenery of the empty lot (which is convenient for parking) across the street and a downtrodden road isn't scenic.
Lastly, this is just a quick (and hilly) ride (just cut through Valley Road from Jennings) from the beginning of the Towpath Trail and a great reward for finishing your run/bike there.
Athough not exactly competition, (this is gelato) Honey Hut: your competition is here.
Now, you don't have just one good reason for dairy or non-dairy iced flavored desserts in Old Brooklyn, you now have 2.
